Overview

Currently, the region several centuries ago, used to be a Portuguese colony and a settlement Dutchman, is an independent country known as Republic of Angola and is located southwest of Africa.

Angola is divided into 18 provinces on whose surface are precious natural resources such as diamonds and oil, shares borders with Namibia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia, as well as being bounded by the Atlantic Ocean.

This country has a tropical climate Luanda as capital city and Portuguese as their official language, the landscapes are determined by grasslands, forests, beaches and deserts. Major Cities of Angola

Luanda , the largest city and main port. This city on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean was founded in 1575 by Portuguese explorer Paulo Dias de Novais and, currently, is within the province of the same name which is also as capital.

Huambo is a city that is characterized by the same name as one of the most prominent locations in the country. This site, located 600 miles southeast of Luanda, was officially founded in August 1912 and a few years later, it had managed to become major economic centers of the Portuguese.

Bengo which consists of five municipalities and is characterized by a dry tropical climate, bordered to the north of Zaire Province, northeast to Uige, Cuanza Norte on the east and south by Cuanza Sul.
