Posted in Culture Travel on 15th March 2010

While Xian was one of the most important trade routes being China  East and Central Asia, this province has been perpetuated over time thanks to its famous Terracotta Warriors.

In March 1974 during construction work for irrigation water was discovered a wonderful place known as the Mausoleum the First Emperor Qin where an army made up of lay more than 10,000 figures of terracotta warriors and horses in real size que were buried when he died the first emperor of China Qin Shi Huang Qin.

In striking realism, each of the figures shows different traits and characteristics (whiskers, hair, young, old, ethnic groups, etc..) And were buried with the Emperor in the belief that the monarch would still have troops under his command. The mausoleum is located 33 kilometers from Xian and the three pits between 4 and 8 feet deep to hide these figures lined up in battle formation.

In 1980 he discovered two painted bronze chariots, each composed of more than 3,000 pieces and “guided” by four horses and a driver imperial. In 1987, the Terracotta Warriors were declared as World Heritage by UNESCO.
